PROFILE IN GENEROSITY:  Paula Devine

Paula Devine — A Positive Force in her Community

The first thing you notice about Glendale City Councilmember Paula Devine is her smile. Next, you notice that everyone in the room is drawn to her, fueled by her positive energy. It’s no wonder, Paula embodies the spirit of giving, both as a public servant and generous donor.

Paula has been a longtime supporter of The Campbell Center’s (TCC) programs and classes for adults with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD). Through the years she has always championed the work at the center as it evolved from large-group programs to now more individualized supports tailored to each Associate’s individual needs. She’s a regular at TCC fundraisers and has contributed annually through her family foundation, most recently making a substantial gift in memory of her late husband, Art. But more than that, she truly loves to connect with the Associates she helps TCC support and makes it a point to learn more about their lives, their loves and their dreams. After a visit to one of TCC’s three homes that provide supportive housing to adults with I/DD, she reflected, “I was grateful for the opportunity to visit and experience, firsthand, the wonderful work The Campbell Center does.”

Paula has served on the Glendale City Council since 2014, including two terms as the city’s Mayor. She is a member of several local service groups that give back to the community and has served as a board member of several Foundations and non-profits. As a retired educator she understands the value of investing in the community and supporting organizations like The Campbell Center dedicated to enriching the lives of all citizens.
