The Community Foundation of the Valleys

Changing the Future Today

The Community Foundation of the Valleys (“Foundation”) was incorporated as a tax-exempt 501(c)3 community organization in 2003 as the San Fernando Valley Community Foundation. We changed to our current name in 2013 to reflect anticipated growth and also an expanded serving community that now includes the Santa Clarita Valley.

The Foundation was formed by a prominent group of business and community leaders who envisioned an organization that would focus most of its resources on supporting human care services in the local region. Tax-exempt donations to the Foundation would be solicited from individual donors, businesses and corporations who were interested in potential income tax savings while at the same time supporting community causes where they had a passion and/or an interest. The Foundation can also serve as a financial asset manager for community-based organizations to help them build legacy funds and endowments that will secure the financial stability of these agencies.
